The course is conducted in semester 3 for the second year university students. This course investigates how people learn languages. We will discuss topics such as:

-         Age and learning: Does age influence how well one learns a language?

-         First language acquisition: How infants learn their first language.

-         Second language acquisition: How people learn a language that is not their first.

-         Language learning: Various methods of learning a language.

-         Human learning: General principles of learning that apply to languages.

-         Individual differences: How individual characteristics affect language learning.

By the conclusion of this course, students will have a deeper understanding of language learning and be able to apply this knowledge in diverse situations.


The course is a practical class, focusing on developing students’ awareness of the principles and practice of teaching English, extending their classroom language, and giving them an opportunity to implement the most innovative approaches to language teaching.
